There are many occasions where top players fall in their respective drafts for a variety of reasons only to then prove themselves after being selected in later rounds.

In MLS SuperDraft history there have been a number of talented USL League Two (formerly Premier Development League) players that have dropped past the first round, including U.S. Men's National Team players Graham Zusi and Geoff Cameron.
