TAMPA, Fla. - Real Salt Lake has announced that the club has signed former USL League Two players Tate Schmitt and Erik Holt to Homegrown contracts on Thursday.
The MLS side now has 12 current Homegrown players on its roster heading into the 2019 season following the additions of Schmitt and Holt.
Schmitt - a former FC Tucson player in League Two - was named First-Team All-ACC in 2018 following his senior season at Louisville. He finished his collegiate career with 26 goals and 17 assists in 80 appearances for the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Holt previously featured in League Two with San Diego Zest FC and FC Golden State Force while attending UCLA. Holt started 61 matches on defense in his Bruins career, while earning recognition as a MAC Hermann Watch List candidate during the lead up to the 2018 Division I campaign.
