TAMPA, Fla. - Former USL League Two winger Killian Colombie is set to go on a trial this winter with Scottish Premier League side Hearts.

Colombie -- who previously played in League Two with AHFC Royals during the 2018 season -- started and played every match this year for NCAA Division I side Iona. In 18 appearances, the France native tallied seven goals and three assists, which led the Gaels in both categories.

The 23-year-old also earned first-team All-MAAC honors. Colombie came to the United States in 2015 to pursue a collegiate career, and has since gone on to make 49 starts during his four years.

During the 2018 League Two season, Colombie recorded 10 goals and five assists for AHFC Royals.

In addition to a potential trial in Scotland, Colombie is being tracked by a number of Major League Soccer clubs, including the New York Red Bulls and San Jose Earthquakes. Both MLS sides have invited the attacker to attend winter training sessions.

“When I came here (Iona) in 2015, I said to myself: ‘I’m going to get to the MLS somehow’,” said Colombie. “I don’t know how yet but I’ll be there eventually. I just had a plan and I stuck to it, and now everything seems to fall into place.

“To go to the MLS draft is prestigious and it gives you much exposure. It seems best to go the MLS path first. In the future, I would love to play in Europe of course. But if the door is open now and I have the chance to play in a competitive European League, obviously I will go for it.”
