TAMPA, Fla. - USL Cup will be decided on Thursday night when Louisville City FC hosts Phoenix Rising FC at Lynn Stadium. The match will feature 25 Premier Development League (soon to be USL League Two) alumni.
Louisville boasts a roster filled with 14 PDL alums, while Phoenix includes 11 former PDL players in its squad.
The hosts feature a number of talented attacks that began their careers in PDL, including Luke Spencer and Devon "Speedy" Williams. Both Spencer and Williams scored goals in Louisville's 5-1 Eastern Conference Final victory against New York Red Bulls II.
Phoenix progressed to USL Cup behind a 2-1 win on the road against Orange County SC. Rising is led by one of the best defensive units in USL, which includes Saad Abdul-Salaam and Amadou Dia -- who previously played in PDL.
