Sports have the ability serve as a means of joy to many as well as a distraction to others during times of difficulty. At this time, we would like to raise awareness about one of the Premier Development League's own players.

Moises Martinez, who spent the 2018 season at Colorado Rapids U23, became ill on Oct. 16 and has since been hospitalized with a genetic disease that has cause veins in the back of his head to tangle.

Martinez has been unresponsive since then and is currently battling for his life in a hospital at UC San Francisco.

During this very trying time for both Martinez, as well as his family and friends, we at the PDL would like raise awareness about the matter.

Martinez has previously featured for Fresno FC U23 -- in addition to his time in Colorado.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help support the Martinez family's medical costs. To this point, over $13,000 has been raised to help out our fellow PDL member. Please visit the link below, if possible.
