Creighton's Kruse, Virginia's Figbe among players moving into top 50

TAMPA, Fla. - Six players enter the fourth edition of the Premier Development League’s Top College Prospects list, joining an already-impressive group of high-quality players from across the elite college soccer landscape.

Among the new additions this week is California striker Shinya Kadono -- whose 10 goals this season have the senior tied for third in the NCAA Division I goal-scoring ranks. Kadono represented San Francisco Glens SC during the 2018 PDL season. After scoring eight goals during his first three years at California, Kadono is on pace to double that total this campaign for the Golden Bears.

Purdue Fort Wayne goalscorer Matthew Lieshout and Creighton goalkeeper Paul Kruse also make their way into the fourth edition of the Top College Prospects list after boasting stellar seasons, respectively. Lieshout leads Purdue Fort Wayne in goals this season, having recorded nine in 10 matches for the Mastadons. Meanwhile, Kruse -- who starred in the PDL at Lane United FC in 2018 -- has allowed just three goals in Creighton's opening nine matches and boasts six shutouts during the team's 7-1-1 start.

Two more forwards check into this week's edition of the Top College Prospects, while a defender continues to make waves in the ACC. North Carolina forward Giovanni Montesdeoca and Kentucky goalscorer Jerome Williams have each played key roles for their schools in 2018, with the Tar Heels and Wildcats both ranked in the latest NCAA United Soccer Coaches poll. On the defensive side, Virginia's Prosper Figbe continues to shine for the Cavaliers, who have allowed just one goal during their 5-0-2 unbeaten start. Figbe suited up for Black Rock FC during the 2018 PDL season, making nine appearances for the Northeast Division champions.

The Top College Prospects list features the top 50 college-based players who have previously competed in the 2018 PDL campaign. The list will evolve during the fall season, with bi-weekly updates allowing players to gain recognition based on their collegiate play.
