Another exciting weekend of collegiate action kicks off this Friday, with a full slate of NCAA DI, DII and NAIA matches on display.

With all divisions of men's college soccer now kicked off, teams begin early-season jockeying for supremacy and later-season positioning, including several head-to-head Top College Prospect clashes.

MARYLAND (0-1-0, ACC) VS. STANFORD (0-0-1, PAC-12)

Two perennial powerhouses clash in an exciting early season showdown when defending national champions Stanford travel cross-country to take on regular ACC contenders Maryland.

Given the tall task of stifling the Cardinal attack is New York Red Bulls U23 goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair - who was unable to stop another Pac-12 foe a week ago when the Terrapins fell to Washington. With each team seeking its first win of the season, expect an exciting, high-level match.

SMU (1-1-0, AAC) VS. INCARNATE WORD (0-2-0, SOUTHLAND)

The second match on Friday evening features a pair of Top College Prospects going head-to-head as SMU host Incarnate Word - with the latter seeking their first win of the season.

In attack for SMU is talented OKC Energy U23 forward Garrett McLaughlin, who recorded three goals this summer with his PDL club. He'll be running directly at freshman goalkeeper Carlos Mercado, who was spectacular in net with the undefeated Des Moines Menace this past summer.

PORTLAND (1-0-1, WCC) VS. UC SANTA BARBARA (2-0-0, BIG WEST)

The third and final must-see match on Friday features another round of direct competition between two Top College Prospects when Portland hosts UC Santa Barbara.

Leading the Pilots attack at this weekends Nike Portland Invitational is forward Benji Michel, who remained close to campus this summer with the Portland Timbers U23. He'll go head-to-head with UCSB's Carson Vom Steeg, who competed with fellow Western Conference club the Ventura County Fusion in the 2018 PDL season.
