2018 PDL All-Central Conference Team

Menace’s Ryosuke, Chicago’s Prpa headline selections

TAMPA, Fla. — A total of seven teams - the Des Moines Menace, Chicago FC United, Lansing United, the Cincinnati Dutch Lions, the Dayton Dutch Lions, the Michigan Bucks and Kaw Valley FC - are represented on the 2018 All-Central Conference Team.

The Menace, Chicago, the Bucks and Lansing lead the pack with two selections each. Included in the eleven athletes voted in by Central Conference teams are seven PDL Top Prospects, led by No. 2 prospect and Bucks midfielder Brad Dunwell.

2018 All-Central Conference Team

GK - Carlos Mercado, Des Moines Menace: The No. 31 prospect league-wide showed his ability in eight appearances for the Menace, allowing only three goals while winning all eight contests with five clean sheets. The FC Dallas academy product is heading into his freshman season at Incarnate Word this fall.
D - Grant Stoneman, Chicago FC United: The No. 25 prospect league-wide, Stoneman was a key cog of Chicago’s playoff-bound defense. The rising senior at Loyola helped Chicago earn three clean sheets in his 11 appearances (909 minutes), and contributed a goal in one of the team’s crucial wins down the stretch in July.
D - Ebenezer Ackon, Lansing United: Appearing in 11 matches (917 minutes) for Lansing United, Ackon contributed to four clean sheets in the team’s inaugural PDL season, which resulted in its first playoff appearance. The rising senior from Ghana returns to Bowling Green this fall.
D - Mark Da Silva Lindstrom, Cincinnati Dutch Lions: A huge part of Cincinnati’s defense, Lindstrom appeared in 12 matches (979 minutes) for the Dutch Lions, contributing to five clean sheets in that span. He also contributed one goal during the season. Lindstrom returns to UNC Wilmington for his junior season this fall.
M - Tate Robertson, Dayton Dutch Lions: The No. 32 prospect league-wide, Robertson appeared in 13 matches for Dayton (1,104 minutes) and was the team-leader in assists with seven, while also contributing six goals as the Dutch Lions won the Great Lakes Division for the first time. He will spend his senior season back at Bowling Green this fall.
M - Luka Prpa, Chicago FC United: The No. 34 prospect league-wide, Prpa appeared in 12 matches for Chicago FC United (949 minutes), scoring two goals and recording an assist while helping marshal the midfield to four clean sheets. Prpa returns this fall to Marquette University for his junior season.
M - Brad Dunwell, Michigan Bucks: The No. 2 prospect league-wide, Dunwell was the bucks primary holding midfielder in nine appearances (810 minutes) this season, including two clean sheets. The rising senior at Wake Forest also led the second Top Prospects list of the 2018 season.
M - Kyle Carr, Lansing United: In 12 appearances for Lansing United (849 minutes), Carr contributed two assists and solid possession work in midfield to help the club reach the playoffs in its inaugural season. The Eastern Florida alum was a crucial cog in defense as the team finished as runner-up in the Great Lakes division.
F - Kinoshita Ryosuke, Des Moines Menace: Appearing in all 14 matches and leading the team with 1,211 minutes, Ryosuke was one of the stars of the season for the Menace. The rising senior - transferring to Louisville this fall - recorded 17 goals, second-best league-wide, and three assists while helping his club win the Heartland Division and finish as PDL Regular Season Champions.
F - Tucker Stephenson, Kaw Valley FC: Making 11 appearances (891 minutes) in the club’s inaugural season, Stephenson was the key danger-man for Kaw Valley FC. Though the club fell just short of the playoffs, Stephenson recorded a team-leading nine goals as the No. 27 prospect league-wide, and will return to Loyola for his senior season this fall.
F - Austin Ricci, Michigan Bucks: The No. 35 prospect league-wide, Ricci appeared in all 14 matches for the Bucks this season (700 minutes) and led the team in both goals, with 12, and assists, with seven. The Oakland University product recorded at least one goal or assist in seven matches this season.
