Tormenta FC's Antley Named PDL Player of the Week

Defender played in pair of shutouts, scored to help clinch division title

While helping lead South Georgia Tormenta FC to the club's first silverware, defender Conner Antley took part in two shutouts to claim the title of PDL Player of the Week in Week 10.

On Thursday, Antley featured for 72 minutes of Tormenta FC's 3-0 win over the Birmingham Hammers, with his 69th minute strike opening the scoring and securing the Deep South Division title and a spot in the Southern Conference semifinals. He played an additional 21 minutes in the team's scoreless draw against Mississippi Brilla FC two days later to keep Tormenta FC unbeaten in 2018.

Here's a look at the full PDL National Team of the Week in Week 10.

GK - Jose Miranda, FC Golden State Force: As the FC Golden State Force continued their march to the Western Conference semifinals, Miranda was strong in goal, pitching a 4-0 shutout over San Diego Zest FC.
D - Jake Stovall, Dayton Dutch Lions: In a crucial 1-0 shutout over the Cincinnati Dutch Lions, Stovall and the Dayton defense played a massive role, with Stovall himself going the full 90 minutes.
D - Conner Antley, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Two shutouts and a division-clinching goal against the Hammers gave Tormenta FC its first ever silverware, earning Antley the nod as Player of the Week.
D - Yuta Yamamoto, Myrtle Beach Mutiny: Yamamoto went a full 90 minutes and provided a goal in the Mutiny's 4-1 win over Tobacco Road FC, helping set up the club's eventual title the following week.
M - Carlos Patino, Calgary Foothills FC: In a pair of Foothills FC shutout wins last week over Lane United FC and the Timbers U23, Patino scored once and assisted three goals while dominating the midfield.
M - Troy Reeves, St. Louis Lions: In two road wins over the Thunder Bay Chill last week, Reeves scored the winning goal in both contests to keep the Lions' playoff hopes alive.
M - Angel Elvira, Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C.: Elvira showed up massive in Brazos Valley's continued run of success, racking up four goals and an assist over two wins last week, both on the road.
M - Lucas Da Silva, New York Red Bulls U23: As the Red Bulls U23 continue to position themselves well for a playoff position, Da Silva knocked in a goal and an assist in last week's 6-2 win over Evergreen FC.
F - Kino Ryosuke, Des Moines Menace: As the Menace continue their unbeaten season, Ryosuke continues to impress, as the talented forward tallied another three goals and two assists this past week.
F - Patricio Botello, Corpus Christi FC: Three goals and one assist for Botello on the week ended with four points for Corpus Christi FC and a spot on the team of the week.
F - Pol Vasaart, GPS Portland Phoenix: In the Phoenix's four points this past week, Vasaart was crucial, picking up two goals and an assist over both matches
