Tormenta FC rise, three teams hold onto No. 1 spots

The Eastern, Central and Western Conferences are steady at the top, but the Southern Conference sees a shift in power after a strong week from South Georgia Tormenta FC in Week 7. Who else joins them? Find out below.

Here’s a look at the power rankings for Week 7.

The top four in the Eastern Conference is simply a reshuffling this week, with Reading United AC and the Long Island Rough Riders holding court at the top, the New York Red Bulls U23 rising to third and Black Rock FC falling to fourth. Joining them in the top five after a massive week are the Myrtle Beach Mutiny. The story heading into Week 8 is a clash between Reading and the Rough Riders for control of the Mid Atlantic Division.

Nobody is catching the Des Moines Menace atop the Central Conference, with their perfect 7-0-0 record. Chicago FC United suffered their first defeat of the season, but remains in second. The Dayton Dutch Lions and Lansing United have swapped spots in recent weeks, but the former's road draw and topping of the division trumps the latter's unbeaten record. Kaw Valley FC re-enters the rankings as the Chaos simply can't find a win, with five draws in eight.

The Southern Conference sees a new team on top, as South Georgia Tormenta FC keep winning in decisive fashion to elevate to 6-0-1 after another pair of shutout wins. SIMA Aguilas keep pace at 5-0-2, still with just two goals allowed this season, with Mississippi Brilla FC and the Lakeland Tropics following suit with strong records. The AHFC Royals rise into the top five after their big clash with Texas United gave them control of the Mid South Division.

No surprise in the Western Conference as the FC Golden State Force hold on to the top spot with a 9-1-0 record. The Colorado Rapids U23 settled for a win and a draw this week, but remain unbeaten at 6-0-2 and in the second spot. Calgary Foothills FC had three road matches this week and secured nine points to rise to third, with FC Tucson and the Ventura County Fusion closing out the top five.
