Menace, SIMA rise to the top, but rivals sit close behind

New risers top the Central and Southern Conferences after Week 6 of PDL play, as two unbeatens take the top slots in their respective locales. Joining them are five other teams entering - or re-entering - the top five in their respective conferences as well.

Here’s a look at the power rankings for Week 6.

After a midweek win over FA Euro New York, Reading United AC finally dropped some points this year in a draw against the Long Island Rough Riders over the weekend. The Rough Riders own midweek win over Lehigh Valley United and that same draw see them boost to the No. 2 slot, just behind Reading. Dropping one slot after a 2-2 draw against the Boston Bolts, Black Rock FC remains unbeaten on the year and in third this week. The Charlotte Eagles re-enter the top five at No. 4 after a huge 6-1 win over the Carolina Dynamo and a scoreless draw against Lionsbridge FC, while the New York Red Bulls U23 remain at No. 5 after a draw.

With two more road wins - making five straight - the Des Moines Menace rise to a perfect 6-0-0 on the year and jump to the top spot in this week’s Central Conference rankings. Close behind are Chicago FC United, who also took two road wins this week, sitting at 5-0-0 so far this season. Lansing United remains in the No. 3 slot after taking down the Dayton Dutch Lions on the road to take control of the Great Lakes Division, sitting at 4-0-3. The Dutch Lions take their lumps and drop three spots to No. 4, followed by the West Virginia Chaos and their 2-1-4 mark after wins away at the Derby City Rovers and a draw at home with the Michigan Bucks.

With a midweek draw against The Villages SC and a weekend shutout win over the former No. 1 Lakeland Tropics, SIMA Aguilas move into the top spot this week in the Southern Conference. Making their case and sitting next at No. 2 are also-unbeaten South Georgia Tormenta FC after two wins over the SC United Bantams and Myrtle Beach Mutiny. Mississippi Brilla FC sit No. 3 after two road wins over Tri-Cities Otters and Memphis City FC to rise to 5-1-2 on the year. A loss to SIMA drops the Lakeland Tropics to No. 4, while Texas United drops to No. 5 after their big defeat at the hands of Corpus Christi FC.

Another week and another win for the FC Golden State Force, who remain at No. 1 as a result after taking down the Southern California Seahorses. The Colorado Rapids U23 make their case for the top spot as well, with an unbeaten 5-0-1 mark and two wins on the road this week. FC Tucson rises big up to No. 3 after two shutout wins over Colorado Pride Switchbacks U23 this week, bringing their record up to 5-2-0. Northeast Division rivals Calgary Foothills FC and TSS FC Rovers take up spots No. 4 and No. 5 respectively, with the former securing a draw and the latter taking a loss this week.
