Dayton’s Robertson Named PDL Player of the Week

Forward records three goals, one assist in pair of wins for Dutch Lions

TAMPA, Fla — After scoring a game-winning goal in the Dayton Dutch Lions first win of the week - followed by another two goals and one assist in their second - forward Tate Robertson has been named PDL Player of the Week in Week 5.

While helping the Dutch Lions maintain their unbeaten record - now at 4-0-1 - and the top spot in both the Great Lakes Division and the Central Conference power rankings, Robertson boosted himself into second in both goals and assists league-wide with five and three respectively. He also made his debut in the second edition of the 2018 PDL Top Prospects list, currently sitting at No. 40.

Here’s a full look at the PDL National Team of the Week in Week 5

GK - Matthew Mozynski, Thunder Bay Chill: Mozynski was crucial in the Chill’s phenomenal season-debut, earning two shutouts in each of the team’s wins over WSA Winnipeg.
D - Carson Vom Steeg, Ventura County Fusion: Vom Steeg went a full 90 minutes for the Fusion in their shutout win over Orange County SC U23, remaining unbeaten on the year.
D - Louis Bennett, OKC Energy U23: In the Energy U23’s win over FC Cleburne, Bennett got it done on both ends with solid defense and a brace in the 2-1 victory.
D - Daniel Krutzen, Reading United AC: Krutzen, an instrumental part of Reading’s perfect start to the season, recorded a stunning Goal of the Week nominee in the team’s fourth win.
M - Dennis Flores, FC Golden State Force: While helping lead the Force to a league-best fifth and sixth wins, Flores went 151 minutes and recorded a brace against Santa Cruz Breakers FC.
M - Sergio Campano Franco, Thunder Bay Chill: Campano Franco recorded two goals and one assist in the Chill’s two wins, and was involved in the game-winner in each.
M - Shawn Sanon, Peachtree City MOBA: In a pair of high-scoring wins over Memphis City FC, Sanon recorded two goals in the 3-0 win and went a full 90 in midfield during the team’s 4-3 victory.
M - Sebastian Gordillo, Long Island Rough Riders: In the Rough Riders win over Evergreen FC on Saturday, Gordillo recorded two assists on the opening two goals before grabbing one of his own.
F - Tate Robertson, Dayton Dutch Lions: In the Dutch Lions two wins, Robertson grabbed three goals and an assist, including one game-winner to earn Player of the Week honors.
F - Ifunanyachi Achara, Black Rock FC: In a pair of Black Rock FC wins, Achara recorded two goals and one assist while helping the team remain unbeaten in its young PDL history.
F - Juan David Tejada Londono, Lakeland Tropics: Tejada Londono played a key role in the Tropics two wins, scoring two goals against IMG Academy and one more against Weston FC.
