South Atlantic Division clubs have a tough grind ahead in 2018, competing against the PDL Champion Charlotte Eagles and the 2017 divisional champion Myrtle Beach Mutiny.
Despite finishing atop the division with a sterling 10-1-3 record, the Mutiny ended up playing second fiddle to the Eagles in 2017, as the latter ran through the playoffs to their first PDL Championship title. Those two return to a division that has reduced in scope, with many teams jumping to the new Deep South Division.
Also returning to the division are fellow Carolina-based teams Tobacco Road FC, the Carolina Dynamo and North Carolina FC U23.
Those five clubs are joined by one of the newest PDL member clubs, as Virginia Peninsula-based Lionsbridge FC begins play in 2018.
