It was another banner season for PDL players in NCAA DII, as alums comprised nearly two-thirds of this season's United Soccer Coaches All-American teams.
Eight of the 11 first team honorees boasted PDL experience within the last two seasons. In defense,Ty Mobley (OKC Energy U23), Johan Mauritzson (FA Euro) and Thomas Vancaeyezeele (Mississippi Brilla FC) lead the way for PDL alums. Three of four midfielders also spent their summer with PDL teams, including Charlie Dennis (South Georgia Tormenta FC), Moshe Perez (FC Tucson) and Toni Soler (South Georgia Tormenta FC). At the top, two of three forwards are also alums as Aidan Apodaca (Southern California Seahorses) and Charlie Ledula (FA Euro) were honored.
PDL involvement wasn't limited to the first team, however, as alums also made up a significant portion of the second team. Nine of 11 second-team All-Americans hailed from the nation's top development league, including the entire back three and goalkeeper. The PDL had a presence on the third team as well, boasting four of the remaining 11 players.
