On Tuesday, the United Soccer Coaches unveiled the list of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the highest individual honor in NCAA DI soccer.

Among the 15 semifinalists are nine players with PDL experience, including potential favorite Jon Bakero of Wake Forest, who played for the Carolina Dynamo in 2017 and was recently named the No. 1 Senior prospect in the PDL Top College Prospects list. Also among the favorites for the trophy are UNC-Chapel Hill’s Cam Lindley, who was named the No. 1 Sophomore in the PDL’s class lists after spending 2017 with the Wilmington Hammerheads and 2016 with Chicago FC United, and Stanford’s Foster Langsdorf, the No. 5 Senior on the PDL class lists and two-time defending NCAA DI champion who competed in the PDL the past four seasons with the Portland Timbers U23 and San Francisco City FC.

A pair of collegiate teammates follow two of the aforementioned favorites, as Stanford’s Tomas Hilliard joins Langsdorf after spending 2017 with the Burlingame Dragons and UNC-Chapel Hill’s Alan Winn joins Lindley as the No. 4 Senior on the PDL class lists coming off his 2017 season with Tobacco Road FC. Also named to the semifinal list are Columbia senior Arthur Bosua, the PDL’s No. 10-ranked senior and Long Island Rough Riders alum, SMU’s Mauro Cichero, who played with the OKC Energy U23 in 2016, Dartmouth’s Wyatt Omsberg, who competed with the Seacoast United Phantoms in 2017, and FIU forward Santiago Patino, the PDL’s No. 6-ranked Junior who followed up a strong season with SIMA Aguilas by scoring 15 goals for the Panthers.

The three MAC Hermann Trophy finalists will be selected from the semifinalist pool on December 8 during the Men’s College Cup semifinals in Philadelphia, PA. The award winners will be named on January 5, 2018 at the Missouri Athletic Club. PDL alums have won the award five of the last seven seasons, including Jordan Morris in 2016, Patrick Mullins twice in 2012 and 2013, Andrew Wenger in 2011 and Darlington Nagbe in 2010.
