With everyone recovering over the weekend from Thanksgiving, the NCAA DI Tournament returns with Round of 16 action to provide entertainment.
Seven of the 16 seeded teams in the tournament have been eliminated already during the second round, as upsets swept across the national landscape. While everyone from No. 1 Wake Forest to No. 7 Michigan State remain safe, big names fell such as No. 8 Clemson, No. 11 Virginia, No. 12 Notre Dame and No. 13 Michigan. Also going down to unseeded opposition were No. 14 Georgetown, No. 15 Dartmouth, and No. 16 VCU.
Saturday brings six of the remaining seeded teams into play, including No. 2 Indiana, taking on New Hampshire, and No. 3 UNC-Chapel Hill as they face a very tough opponent in SMU. Elsewhere, No. 5 Akron takes on Big Ten champion Wisconsin, No. 6 Duke takes on Fordham fresh off their upset of No. 11 Virginia, and No. 7 Michigan State takes on No. 10 Western Michigan in the only fully-seeded match of the round.
On Saturday, the Round of 16 action concludes with three more matches. No. 1 Wake Forest returns to action after narrowly escaping Columbia and now face Butler. Elsewhere, Colgate is fresh off a major upset of No. 13 Michigan as they face No. 4 Louisville, and No. 9 Stanford aims to keep their title-defense alive against Coastal Carolina.
