TAMPA, Fla. – The 2017 Premier Development League All-Southern Conference Team features selections from six teams – the OKC Energy U23, Mississippi Brilla FC, FC Miami City, Lakeland Tropics, The Villages SC and Tampa Bay Rowdies U23.

Four players named to the fifth edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list – Julio Moncada, Eric Dick, Kevin Coiffic and Thomas Vancaeyezeele – have been chosen. The selections were voted on by members from the Southern Conference.

2017 All-Southern Conference Team:

GK – Eric Dick, OKC Energy U23: The Butler University talent, ranked 17th on the fifth edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list, played every minute (1,260) of the regular season for the Energy U23, making 44 saves while recording a 0.71 goals-against average.
D – Kevin Coiffic, FC Miami City: The Broward College standout, ranked 30th on the fifth edition of the Top Prospects list, scored five goals and recorded two assists for Miami City to help it reach the PDL Playoffs for a second time in three years. Coiffic helped the club record six shutouts in 13 games (1,141 minutes).
D – Jonathan Parpeix, FC Miami City: Parpeix finished the 2017 regular season with eight assists – second-most across the PDL – for Miami City. He played 13 games (1,140 minutes) for the club, helping it record seven shutouts en route to a berth in the PDL Playoffs.
D – Gabriel Torres, The Villages SC: The University of the District of Columbia talent shined for The Villages SC during the 2017 campaign, recording four goals and three assists in 11 games (950 minutes).
D – Thomas Vancaeyezeele, Mississippi Brilla FC: The University of Charleston standout – ranked 50th on the fifth edition of the Top Prospects list – played all 14 regular-season games (1,131 minutes) for Brilla FC, scoring two goals and recording three assists. Vancaeyezeele helped the club secure seven shutouts and clinch a spot in the 2017 PDL Playoffs.
M – Kevin Varela, Tampa Bay Rowdies U23: The Liberty University talent caught the eyes of many in the Southeast Division. Varela led the Rowdies U23 in both goals (8) and assists (3) in 2017.
M – Willian Hopfner, The Villages SC: Hopfner scored a team-high 10 goals for The Villages in 11 games played (918 minutes). The midfielder also recorded three assists.
M – Angelo Kelly, Mississippi Brilla FC: The William Penn University talent turned heads in the Mid South Division during the 2017 regular season. Kelly bossed the midfield for Brilla FC, playing in all 14 games (1,143 minutes) to help the club reach the PDL Playoffs.
F – Mohamed Kourouma, FC Miami City: Kourouma scored 11 goals – tied for the Southern Conference-high – to lead Miami City to a PDL Playoffs berth. The forward also provided three assists in 13 games (958 minutes).
F – Ricardo Diegues, Lakeland Tropics: Diegues scored a team-high 10 goals for the Tropics during the regular season and also provided two assists in 13 games (1,136 minutes).
F – Julio Moncada, OKC Energy U23: The University of North Carolina at Wilmington talent – ranked 10th on the fifth edition of the Top Prospects list – led the Energy U23 in both goals and assists during the regular season. Moncada scored 11 goals – tied for the Southern Conference-high – and provided four assists in 13 matches (834 minutes).
