Energy U23 remain No. 1; SIMA rises to No. 2 after Week 10 wins

The OKC Energy U23 are No. 1 in the final edition of the Southern Conference Power Rankings after winning their 11th game during Week 10 of the 2017 Premier Development League regular season.

The SIMA AguilasFC Miami CityLakeland Tropics and Mississippi Brilla FC join the Energy U23 in the final edition of the power rankings.

Southern Conference Top 5:

1. OKC Energy U23

Previous: No. 1
Week 10 Results: W 6-0 vs. FC Cleburne
2017 PDL Record: 11-1-1
Week 11 Matches: at Texas United (7 p.m. CT, July 15)
Overview: After clinching the Mid South Division title in Week 9, the OKC Energy U23 defeated FC Cleburne 6-0 at home on Sunday. Julio Moncada, ranked 13th on the fourth edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list, scored a hat trick and recorded an assist in the victory, as the Energy U23 attempt to capture to the 2017 PDL regular-season title.


2. SIMA Aguilas

Previous: No. 3
Week 10 Results: W 2-0 at South Florida Surf, W 3-1 at Tampa Bay Rowdies U23
2017 PDL Record: 10-1-1
Week 11 Matches: vs. Lakeland Tropics (7 p.m. ET, July 11), at The Villages SC (6 p.m. ET, July 15)
Overview: The SIMA Aguilas recorded back-to-back road wins in Week 10 to jump into first in the Southeast Division. The club has the inside track to secure the division title too, as SIMA will be crowned division champion should it win its final two matches during Week 11.


3. FC Miami City

Previous: No. 2
Week 10 Results: T 2-2 at IMG Academy Bradenton
2017 PDL Record: 9-1-1
Week 11 Matches: at South Florida Surf (7 p.m. ET, July 10), at The Villages SC (6 p.m. ET, July 12), vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 (6 p.m. ET, July 15)
Overview: FC Miami City were held to a tie on the road against IMG Academy Bradenton during Week 10, but the club extended its unbeaten run to seven games. Three games in Week 11 lie ahead for FC Miami City, which is looking to clinch a berth to the PDL Playoffs for a second time in club history.


4. Lakeland Tropics

Previous: No. 4
Week 10 Results: W 2-1 at Palm Beach Suns FC, W 1-0 IMG Academy Bradenton
2017 PDL Record: 9-2-1
Week 11 Matches: at SIMA Aguilas (7 p.m. ET, July 11), at Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 (6 p.m. ET, July 13)
Overview: The Lakeland Tropics earned back-to-back wins during Week 10 to stay in the hunt for a spot in the PDL Playoffs. Ricardo Diegues leads the team in goals scored this season with 10, while Victor Rojas has provided six goals, and Juan David Tejada Londono has netted five this campaign.


5. Mississippi Brilla FC

Previous: No. 5
Week 10 Results: W 2-1 at Houston FC, W 1-0 at Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C.
2017 PDL Record: 8-2-3
Week 11 Matches: vs. Texas United (7 p.m. CT, July 12)
Overview: Mississippi Brilla FC clinched a spot in the 2017 PDL Playoffs with a 1-0 win against Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C. on Saturday. University of Charleston standout Thomas Vancaeyezeele scored Saturday's winner for Brilla FC, who will join the Energy U23 as the Mid South representatives in the PDL Playoffs.
