Overview: The Seacoast United Phantoms are one of two unbeaten teams remaining in the PDL after Week 8 action, and the club could clinch the Northeast Division in Week 9. Multiple players have shined for the Phantoms this season, including Donnett Sackie, Leonardo Paiva and Audi Jepson – who was ranked No. 49 on the third edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list.

2. New York Red Bulls U23

Overview: Led by PDL-leading goal scorer Brian White, who is ranked fifth on the PDL Top Prospects list, the New York Red Bulls U23 continue to dominate the Mid Atlantic Division. White has 13 goals this campaign, scoring one the Red Bulls U23's 3-1 win against Lehigh Valley United and two in a 10-1 win against Evergreen FC.

3. Reading United AC

Overview: Reading United AC extended its winning streak to five games with a victory over Evergreen FC on June 20. Aaron Molloy scored two in the home match and now leads the club in goals scored this campaign with five.

4. Myrtle Beach Mutiny

Overview: With two wins during Week 8, the Myrtle Beach Mutiny are now unbeaten in five and currently sit in second place in the South Atlantic Division. Only one point behind the Nashville SC U23 with two games in hand, the Mutiny scored seven goals in two games. Tobenna Uzo, ranked 44th on the third edition of the PDL Top Prospects list, produced one goal and two assists in the wins.

5. Charlotte Eagles

Week 9 Matches: at Myrtle Beach Mutiny (7 p.m. ET, June 27), at Tobacco Road FC (7 p.m. ET, July 1)
Overview: The Charlotte Eagles were held at home by the SC United Bantams during Week 8, which leaves them in third in the South Atlantic Division behind the Nashville U23 and Mutiny. However, the 2015 and 2016 South Atlantic Division winners have two games in hand on the Nashville U23 and will play the Mutiny in Week 9.
