Numerous clubs across North America inched closer towards clinching division titles during Week 8, while other teams produced important victories on their path to the 2017 Premier Development League Playoffs.

Mississippi Brilla FC took four points from the OKC Energy U23 during Week 8, keeping the Oklahoma-based club from clinching the Mid South Division. However, due to results elsewhere in the division, the Energy U23 are the first team to clinch a spot in the 2017 PDL Playoffs.

K-W United FC still sits comfortably atop the Great Lakes Division, but the Canadian club suffered a loss against the Cincinnati Dutch Lions during Week 8 to give the Michigan Bucks an opportunity to catch up.

In the PDL Game of the Week on Friday, Sho Goto scored a late goal to see Victoria Highlanders FC top the TSS FC Rovers 1-0. However, the Rovers still have a shot at winning the Juan De Fuca Plate, which is given to the best PDL team in British Columbia each season based on head-to-head results. TSS earned a 3-1 win against Highlanders FC on Sunday to even the series. The Canadian clubs will face off one final time this PDL campaign on July 9.

With three weeks remaining in the regular season, only two undefeated teams – the SIMA Aguilas and Seacoast United Phantoms  – are left standing. The Aguilas, currently 8-0-1, defeated both IMG Academy Bradenton and the Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 during Week 8, while the 9-0-2 Phantoms took down the Western Mass Pioneers and GPS Portland Phoenix.
