Fuego, San Francisco City enter top five following wins

FC Golden State Force remains No. 1 in the Western Conference Power Rankings following Week 7 action in the 2017 Premier Development League regular season.

Southwest Division contenders Fresno Fuego and San Francisco City FC, as well as Western Conference standouts Calgary Foothills FC and FC Tucson, join the Force in this week's edition of the rankings.

Western Conference Top 5:

1. FC Golden State Force

Previous: No. 1
Week 7 Results: None
2017 PDL Record: 7-0-1
Week 8 Matches: at Burlingame Dragons FC (7 p.m. PT, June 23), at San Francisco City FC (1 p.m. PT, June 25)
Overview: The FC Golden State Force had Week 7 off after starting the year undefeated. The club, which has scored a Western Conference-high 25 goals, is the only unbeaten team left in the conference heading into Week 8.


2. FC Tucson

Previous: No. 3
Week 7 Results: W 1-0 vs. San Diego Zest FC
2017 PDL Record: 5-2-1
Week 8 Matches: vs. Albuquerque Sol F.C. (8 p.m. MDT, June 24)
Overview: After earning its fifth win of the season, FC Tucson rises to second in this week's edition of the rankings. Danny Musovski, ranked 43rd on the second edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list, scored the winner from the spot in the PDL Game of the Week on Saturday. With six games remaining in the season, Tucson sits five points ahead of the second place in the Mountain Division.


3. Calgary Foothills FC

Previous: No. 2
Week 7 Results: T 0-0 vs. Lane United FC, T 1-1 vs. Lane United FC
2017 PDL Record: 5-1-2
Week 8 Matches: vs. Sounders FC U23 (7 p.m. MDT, June 23), vs. Sounders FC U23 (2 p.m. MDT, June 25)
Overview: Calgary Foothills FC was only able to claim two points in two games at home during Week 7, but with the two ties, the club extended its unbeaten run to five games. Kyle Jones, who netted the game-tying goal for Foothills FC on Sunday, leads the 2016 Western Conference Championship winner in goals this campaign with seven.


4. Fresno Fuego

Previous: Honorable Mention
Week 7 Results: W 3-1 vs. Ventura County Fusion, W 2-0 at Burlingame Dragons FC
2017 PDL Record: 6-2-0
Week 8 Matches: at Orange County SC U23 (5 p.m. PT, June 23), at Southern California Surf (6 p.m. PT, June 25)
Overview: The Fresno Fuego return to the Western Conference top five after earning back-to-back wins in Week 7. The Fuego were led by veteran Milton Blanco, who provided three assists in the team's 3-1 win against the Ventura County Fusion on Thursday and scored one goal against Burlingame Dragons FC on Sunday.


5. San Francisco City FC

Previous: Honorable Mention
Week 7 Results: W 1-0 at Southern California Seahorses, W 2-0 at Orange County SC U23
2017 PDL Record: 6-3-1
Week 8 Matches: vs. FC Golden State Force (1 p.m. PT, June 25)
Overview: San Francisco City FC jumps into the top five after recording their fifth and sixth wins of the season in Week 7. San Francisco has won five of its past six games, outscoring opponents 12-6.
