TAMPA, Fla. – The Premier Development League has voted Willian Hopfner as the Player of the Week following his four-goal performance for The Villages SC during Week 6 of the regular season.

The midfielder scored one goal in The Villages’ 8-3 road win against the Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 on Thursday. Hopfner then netted a hat trick, including a right-footed blast from outside the box, in the club’s 4-0 win against IMG Academy Bradenton in the PDL Game of the Week on Saturday.

GK – Drew Shepherd, Michigan Bucks: The Western Michigan University goalkeeper recorded two shutouts on the road during Week 6, making three saves against the Cincinnati Dutch Lions on Thursday and five saves against the West Virginia Chaos on Saturday.
D – Kamal Miller, K-W United FC: The Syracuse University standout played 127 minutes in K-W United’s two Week 6 wins, scoring a goal in the club’s 3-0 victory against the Derby City Rovers on June 7.
D – Nikola Fimic, Ocean City Nor’easters: The Oklahoma Wesleyan University standout – ranked 17th on the PDL Top Prospects list – played all 180 minutes in the Nor’easters’ two wins against the Jersey Express during Week 6, helping the team record a shutout on June 7 before providing two assists in a 4-1 win on Sunday.
D – Lorenzo Davis, Westchester Flames: The defender helped the Flames record their first win of the 2017 campaign, scoring the game-winner in a 4-1 victory over FC Boston on Saturday.
M – Adam Jones, Sounders FC U23: The Simon Fraser University midfielder scored a hat trick against Lane United FC, including a powerful shot from outside the box, to lead the Sounders U23 to victory on Friday.
M – Adam Vargas, Southern California Surf: Vargas played all 180 minutes for the SoCal Surf during Week 6, helping the club record a 1-0 road win against the Southern California Seahorses before scoring two goals in the team’s 2-1 road win against the Fresno Fuego.
M – Willian Hopfner, The Villages SC: The midfielder helped The Villages earn two important wins in the Southeast Division, scoring four goals in total during Week 6.
M – Ben Conway, OKC Energy U23: The University of the Incarnate Word product scored two goals in the Energy U23’s 3-0 win against Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C. on Saturday, helping the club improve to 7-0-0 on the season.
F – Jamie Merriam, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The West Virginia University product scored the game-winner in Tormenta FC’s 2-0 victory against the Nashville SC U23 on Thursday. He then scored a stunning strike in the club’s 2-2 tie against the Nashville U23 on Saturday.
F – Frantzdy Pierrot, Reading United AC: The Coastal Carolina University standout scored a hat trick in Reading United’s 5-2 road win against Evergreen FC on June 6.
F – Mark Verso, FC Golden State Force: Verso, who earned PDL All-Western Conference Team honors in 2016, scored two goals in the Force’s comeback 3-2 win against the Orange County SC U23 on Saturday.
