Following a fan vote with more than 2,600 submissions, the Bryan-College Station expansion franchise will be known as Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C.* for the 2017 Premier Development League season and beyond.

The Houston Dynamo affiliate also unveiled its team logo, which features two stars that represent the two largest communities in the Brazos Valley – Bryan and College Station.

“The Cavalry is such a great tie-in to the rich military history of the Brazos Valley,” Partner in the Clutch Entertainment Group, the management group for the Brazos Valley Bombers and the new PDL franchise, Uri Geva said. “We are thrilled to have seen such a great alignment between the thousands of votes and our organizations goals of being a major part of our community.”

Cavalry F.C. will kick off its inaugural season in the Mid South Division with a road matchup against Mississippi Brilla FC on May 25. The Texas-based club will play its first home match against Texas United at Nutrabolt Stadium on June 5.

Current Director of Player Development for the Dynamo James Clarkson will lead the team as the Head Coach in 2017. Clarkson holds a Union of European Football Associations “A” Coaching License and a U.S. Soccer Federation “A” Coaching License.
