After four seasons in the Premier Development League, Tucker Hume has signed a professional deal with the United Soccer League's Ottawa Fury FC.

The 6-foot-5 forward won the PDL Championship in 2013 and played a total of 43 PDL regular season matches, scoring 14 goals and recording eight assists.

"I am very excited to sign with Ottawa and I can't wait to get up there and start playing," Hume said. "I have heard many great things about the players, fans, city and Fury FC organization. It was very important for me to sign with Ottawa to begin my career with a quality team and play at a high level. Plus, I know [Head Coach] Paul [Dalglish] very well, so I'm very excited."

Hume, who played for the Portland Timbers U23 in 2016, played for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the past two college campaigns, scoring 18 goals and providing nine assists.

Hume is the latest PDL alum to sign his first professional contract in 2017. Daniel Johnson, who also played for the Timbers U23 in 2016, and Stefan Cleveland both signed contracts with the Chicago Fire, while Charlotte Eagles standout Santiago Moar inked a deal with the USL's Bethlehem Steel FC.

"I've worked with Tucker before and he scored huge goals for me when I was in the PDL with Austin," Dalglish said. "He did the same throughout his college career, he always came up big in key moments. He's a big target striker with a good habit of scoring goals at a key time and he has the type of character we want in our squad."
