Major League Soccer revealed the entire 2017 Generation adidas class on Wednesday, and PDL alums Abu Danladi and Miles Robinson were named.
Robinson, who played for FC Boston during the 2016 PDL regular season, was ranked No. 1 on the Top PDL Defenders in college list in November. Danladi, a standout forward for the Ventura County Fusion, scored seven goals in 11 games for UCLA in 2016. The forward joins Bruins teammate Jackson Yueill and Canadians Adonijah Reid and Shamit Shome as the five members of the class.
In addition to announcing the Generation adidas class, the league also revealed the five college seniors it has signed ahead of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13. PDL alums Brian Wright (Burlingame Dragons FC) and Jeremy Ebobisse join Brandon Aubrey, Julian Gressel and Zeiko Lewis as the players earning an MLS contract.
Also, eight college seniors, including Jalen Brown (Des Moines Menace), Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu (Sounders FC U23) and Tucker Hume (Portland Timbers U-23s), have been extended an invite to attend the 2017 MLS Player Combine. The three PDL alums join Stefan Cleveland, Matej Dekovic, Marcus Epps, Iman Mafi and Jo Vetle Rimstad, and the 53 initial invitees, at the combine from Jan. 8-12 in Los Angeles.
