PDL MVP Walsh Set to Make USL Debut

PDL Golden Boot winner's visa approved; Riverhounds play Hammerheads Wednesday

After being announced as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds' latest signing on Friday, 2016 PDL MVP Chevaughn Walsh has been granted eligibility after receiving his visa approval by the USL and can make his professional debut on Wednesday.

The Riverhounds play the Wilmington Hammerheads at 7 p.m. ET from Highmark Stadium on Wednesday (Watch Online). The USL club will then play the Harrisburg City Islanders at 7 p.m. ET from Metro Bank Park on Saturday (Watch Online). Including this week's matches, the Riverhounds have seven regular-season games remaining on their schedule.

Walsh, who scored 14 goals and provided three assists during the 2016 PDL regular season, earned Golden Boot honors, PDL All-League Team honors was voted PDL MVP. He helped the Ocean City Nor'easters win the Eastern Conference Championship title.

The forward, ranked second on the sixth and final edition of the 2016 PDL Top Prospects list, signed a deal with the Riverhounds until 2018.
