Miami City talent Named CUSA Preseason Defender of the Year; Bronico, Millard earn CUSA honors

Florida International University defender Marvin Hezel, who shined in his time with FC Miami City during the 2016 PDL regular season has been named Conference USA Preseason Defender of the Year.

The 24-year-old appeared in 13 games for Miami City, scoring five goals while leading his side to six league wins. Hezel joins Carolina Dynamo midfielder Brandt Bronico and SC United Bantams defender Koty Millard as the PDL representatives on the 2016 Preseason All-Conference USA Team.

Millard, a rising senior at the University of South Carolina, appeared in 11 regular-season games, scoring one goal and assisting one goal. Bronico is set to play his senior season at UNC Charlotte following a strong season with the Dynamo. The 21-year-old scored two goals and provided five assists in nine regular-season matches, helping the club reach the PDL Playoffs for the first time since 2013.
