In the final edition of the 2016 Eastern Conference Power Rankings, the Charlotte Eagles take the top slot.

The Eagles, led by Head Coach Dave Dixon, earned two wins in Week 10, putting themselves in good position to claim the top seed in the Eastern Conference Championship. If the Eagles win or tie their final regular season game against the Tri-Cities Otters on Saturday, they will clinch the South Atlantic Division title and be one of four teams playing in the Eastern Conference Championship, which will be held on the weekend of July 22-24.

Here’s the Top 6 from the Eastern Conference:

1. Charlotte Eagles (Previous: 1)
Last Week: W 5-1 at SC United Bantams, W 3-0 at South Georgia Tormenta FC
The Eagles took down the Bantams, who were inside the Top 6 of Week 9’s edition of the Eastern Conference Power Rankings, in convincing fashion. Santiago Moar led the way in the Eagles’ first win of the week, scoring twice and assisting once. Moar then scored in the road victory against Tormenta FC, while Kelvin Omondi netted a double to secure a second road win.

2. Reading United AC (Previous: 3)
Last Week: W 7-1 vs Evergreen FC
A big win at home has Reading United on the verge of clinching the Mid Atlantic Division title. Rayane Boukemia and Frantzdy Pierrot each scored two goals and provided one assist in the rout, giving Reading United a one-point lead above Ocean City Nor’easters in the division standings. Three points is all Reading United need to clinch the division title, having already secured a spot in the playoffs.

3. Western Mass Pioneers (Previous: 4)
Last Week: W 4-3 vs. Westchester Flames
The Pioneers are on an eight-game unbeaten streak after edging the Flames in a seven-goal thriller on Friday. Benjamin Lamb scored the game-winner in stoppage time, helping the Pioneers tie the GPS Portland Phoenix on 25 points in the Northeast Division standings. The Pioneers also clinched a playoff berth with the win.

4. GPS Portland Phoenix (Previous: 2)
Last Week: L 3-2 at Long Island Rough Riders, W 4-2 at FA Euro New York
The first tiebreaker for league standings is the head-to-head record, so the Phoenix are currently winning the Northeast after beating the Pioneers, 1-0, earlier this season. However, the club had its unbeaten run snapped in Week 10, suffering a loss to the Rough Riders despite Guilherme Leme scoring twice. The Phoenix were able to put the loss behind them, as Leme scored a double for a second time. The Phoenix and Pioneers have two games remaining – including a showdown against one another – to secure the division title.

5. Carolina Dynamo (Previous: NR)
Last Week: W 2-0 at Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors, W 1-0 vs. SC United Bantams
After falling out of the Power Rankings in recent weeks, the Dynamo climb back into the Top 6 after earning two key wins in Week 10. Daniel Elliot scored the important goal against the Bantams, and the Dynamo can now clinch a playoff spot with a win in either of their two remaining games or if the Eagles defeat the Otters on Saturday.

6. Ocean City Nor’easters (Previous: 6)
Last Week: L 2-0 vs. Baltimore Bohemians, W 3-1 vs. Jersey Express
The Nor’easters have surged into pole position for the second playoff spot in the Mid Atlantic, securing their eighth win of the campaign in Week 10. Chevaughn Walsh scored his 13th goal of the regular season – tying Fresno Fuego’s Christian Chaney for the league lead – in his side’s 3-1 win. The Nor’easters can clinch a playoff spot in multiple scenarios, but a win against the Baltimore Bohemians on Sunday is the most direct path to securing their spot.
