The Michigan Bucks took down reigning PDL Champion K-W United FC for a second time this regular season, earning them the top slot in this week’s Central Conference Power Rankings.

After taking down the Derby City Rovers on the road, the Bucks edged K-W United in a five-goal thriller. In the Heartland Division, the Des Moines Menace suffered their first two losses of the season, but they remain on top of their division standings after earning a win over weekend.

Here’s the Central Conference’s Top 6:

1. Michigan Bucks (Previous: 3)
Last Week: W 4-1 at Derby City Rovers, W 3-2 at K-W United FC
Russell Cicerone scored a goal in each game to lead the Bucks to their eighth win of the season. Benjamin Fitzpatrick also shined in Week 9, scoring two in the win over the Rovers before helping create Cicerone’s goal against K-W United. With four games remaining, the Bucks are one point behind K-W United in the Great Lakes Division with a game in hand.

2. K-W United FC (Previous: 2)
Last Week: L 3-2 vs. Michigan Bucks
Jahsua Mills scored twice, but the 2015 PDL Champion was unable to beat the Bucks at home. Despite falling to the Bucks, K-W United still leads the Great Lakes with 25 points and an 8-2-1 record. K-W United will finish the regular season with home games against the TFC Academy, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds U23 and the Dayton Dutch Lions.

3. Des Moines Menace (Previous: 1)
Last Week: L 1-0 at Chicago Fire U-23, L 2-0 at Kokomo Mantis FC, W 2-0 at Kokomo Mantis FC
The Menace began Week 9 as one of only two PDL teams unbeaten, but they suffered back-to-back losses on the road. The Menace fell to the Fire U-23 before losing to Mantis FC on Friday. On Saturday, Elvir Ibisevic scored the game-winner at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, while Leigh Veidman netted his ninth goal of the season.

4. Chicago Fire U-23 (Previous: 5)
Last Week: W 1-0 Des Moines Menace
The Fire U-23 are back in the Heartland title race after taking down the Menace in Week 9. They still need the Menace to fall again before the season ends, but Andrew Gutman’s game-winner will give the club a boost of momentum as they prepare for two home matches against the Thunder Bay Chill in Week 10.

5. Thunder Bay Chill (Previous: 6)
Last Week: W 4-0 at St. Louis Lions
The Chill earned their fifth win of the regular season, as Anthony Putrus scored a double to lead the team. Sitting third in the Heartland with 16 points, the Chill now look forward to four tough road matches. They play Mantis FC on Monday, Fire U-23 on Tuesday and Thursday and the Menace on Saturday in Week 10.

6. Derby City Rovers (Previous: 4)
Last Week: L 4-1 vs. Michigan Bucks, W 4-1 vs. Dayton Dutch Lions
The Rovers were unable to take down the Bucks at home, but they bounced back with an emphatic win against Dayton on Saturday. Aleksi Pahkasalo continues to lead the Rovers; he scored his 10th goal of the season in the weekend result.
