There was only one change to the Central Conference Power Rankings following Week 8 action, as the conference’s top teams continued their unbeaten runs.

The only movement in this week's edition of the rankings sees the Chicago Fire U-23 leapfrog the Derby City Rovers after earning a win in one of their two contests against Kokomo Mantis FC.

Here’s the Central Conference’s Top 6:

1. Des Moines Menace (Previous: 1)
Last Week: W 7-0 vs. WSA Winnipeg, W 9-0 vs. WSA Winnipeg
The Menace remain in first after two convincing wins against WSA Winnipeg. Leigh Veidman scored four goals in the team’s first win on Friday, while Tommy Barlow netted a hat trick on Saturday. The Menace are one of only two teams remaining in the PDL with an unbeaten record. The Menace are 8-0-1, and have a six-point lead ahead of second place in the Heartland Division.

2. K-W United FC (Previous: 2)
Last Week: W 2-1 at Derby City Rovers, T 1-1 at Cincinnati Dutch Lions, W 2-0 at Cincinnati Dutch Lions
K-W United had a busy week, but managed to earn seven points to remain in first place in the Great Lakes Division. Top Prospect Sergio Camargo scored the game-winner in the team’s first match of the week on Tuesday. Justin Springer scored the only K-W United goal against Cincinnati on Thursday, while Sven Koenig netted a double to give the 2015 PDL Champion its second win of the week.

3. Michigan Bucks (Previous: 3)
Last Week: W 6-0 vs. TFC Academy
The Bucks returned to their winning ways on Thursday with a solid win over TFC Academy. Andre Landell scored a hat trick, while Russell Cicerone, Benjamin Fitzpatrick and Alexis Souahy all added their names to the score sheet. With the result, the Bucks now have a 6-2 record.

4. Chicago Fire U-23 (Previous: 5)
Last Week: W 3-0 vs. Kokomo Mantis FC, L 2-1 at Kokomo Mantis FC
The Fire U-23 earned a win at home, but also fell on the road during Week 8. Charlie Mertz, Andrew Gutman and Mark Segbers handed the Fire U-23 a convincing win at Toyota Park on Tuesday; however, they were unable to replicate the result on the road against Mantis FC. Ivo Cerda scored a goal to even the score at one apiece, but the Fire U-23 conceded a late goal to drop a potential point. The Fire U-23 now have a 6-3-1 record.

5. Derby City Rovers (Previous: 4)
Last Week: L 2-1 vs. K-W United FC
After earning two big wins in Week 7, the Rovers were handed another loss this season. Playing in front of a home crowd at Woehrle Field, the Rovers took the early lead against Great Lakes leader K-W United. Two second-half goals by the visitors saw the Rovers – who now have a 4-2-2 record – walk away with no points.

6. Thunder Bay Chill (Previous: 6)
Last Week: No Games
The Chill still have a 4-2-1 record after being inactive during Week 8. While the Canadian side is six points behind the second-place Fire U-23, the Chill have three games in hand on their Heartland foe.
