Southern Conference teams have had five weeks to make their mark on the 2016 PDL season, and a few, such as OKC Energy U23 and Floridians F.C., have come out of the gates looking strong.

The first edition of the 2016 Southern Conference Power Rankings see the Energy take the top slot after weeks of dominant play. Mid South side Midland/Odessa Sockers FC follows close behind the Energy after recently earning its fourth and fifth wins of the season.

Here’s the Top 6:

1. OKC Energy U23
Last Week: W 3-0 vs. Mississippi Brilla FC; W 3-0 vs. Mississippi Brilla FC
The Energy are one of six undefeated teams remaining in the PDL regular season, and they have looked the most dominant, scoring 12 goals in four games. Mauro Cichero leads the team in goals scored with four, while the Energy defense has only given up three goals.

2. Midland/Odessa Sockers FC
Last Week: W 1-0 at Saint Louis FC U-23; W 3-2 at Saint Louis FC U-23
The Sockers are the first PDL team to five wins this regular season, and four of those five have been won on the road. Bruno Henrique has scored three of the team’s eight goals this campaign, while Jade Mesias has been active and instrumental in many of the Sockers' games.

3. Floridians F.C.
Last Week: W 4-1 SW Florida Adrenaline
Gonzalo Medina, who recently earned May’s PDL Goal of the Month honors, continues to lead Floridians F.C.’s attack, and the club is reaping all of the benefits sitting atop the Southeast standings. Floridians F.C. leads its division with 12 goals scored, with 11 of those have been scored in the team’s previous three games.

4. South Florida Surf
Last Week: W 4-1 at FC Miami City
The Surf have been a difficult team to break down defensively, but it was the offense that led the club to victory on Saturday. Miami City had been atop the Southeast standings in Week 5, and were favored over a Surf side that had only scored one goal through four games. However, Lucas Coutinho, among others, had a field day attacking Miami City at Tropical Park Soccer Stadium.

5. The Villages SC
Last Week: W 1-0 vs. Palm Beach Suns FC
The Villages SC left it late, but earned its second win of the season in three games played thanks to a goal by Pedro Dias. The Villages currently sits in fourth place in the Southeast standings, but the club has a few games in hand on the teams in front of it.

6. FC Miami City
Last Week: L 4-1 vs. South Florida Surf
Miami City has a lot of talent, both on offense and defense, but the team was not clicking per usual over the weekend against the Surf. Miami City’s attack, led by Mohamed Kourouma and Bryan Perea, has been one of the most impressive ones across the league, but the defense has not matched the same production.
