Mississippi Brilla FC was unable to win both meetings against Mid South Division opponent Midland/Odessa Sockers FC in Week 4, but Brilla FC did earn all three points in the PDL Game of the Week on Thursday.

Mississippi Brilla FC 1, Midland/Odessa Sockers FC 0: In the pair's first meeting on Thursday, Brilla FC walked away the victor. Sockers FC had a number of dangerous scoring opportunities throughout the match, but Brilla FC's Louis Beddouri proved to be the hero on the day. The buildup to the goal was sublime. Jamaican Newton Henry was played a ball into his feet just inside the penalty area on the right. He laid off a short pass for Ignacio Flores, who hit a beautiful cross into the box with his first touch. Beddouri was at the back post to head in the captain's cross for the lead.

FC Tucson 5, FC Golden State Force 2: FC Tucson remained perfect after Week 4 action, topping Southwest Division rivals Golden State Force in a seven-goal thriller on the road. Damian German scored two goals, Michael Turner netted once, Minh Vu converted from the penalty spot and Pedro Espindola scored on the counterattack to secure the result. Force FC went down to 10 men just before the half, as Mitchell Bell was shown a red card. Geraldo Baseas scored a goal from distance after Force FC went down, but the home side could not mount a comeback.

“I keep saying that clicking offensively is always the last thing to come,” Head Coach Rick Schantz said after the game. “Damian has struggled some, but once he scored the first goal, you could see his confidence start to grow. When he’s playing with confidence, he does it with a smile, and it’s just infectious.”

Southern West Virginia King's Warriors 3, Peachtree City MOBA 0: The King's Warriors earned their second win of the 2016 season with a 3-0 shutout against South Atlantic Division foe Peachtree City on Thursday. Josh Phelps, Guilherme Machado and Farias Juarez were the goalscorers on the day, while goalkeeper Jacob Chasteen shined. The Appalachian State University goalkeeper made three saves en route to his second shutout of the season.

"We've worked very hard at that [playing good defense]," King's Warriors Head Coach John Miglarese said following the win. "That's not an accident and it's a credit to the guys. We brought them in and showed them how we want to play, how we want to defend. All these guys can play pretty football, they're all technical, they can run, they can finish and they can shoot. But teaching these guys how to defend in the system against good players is something they have to learn and have done a good job. So far, so good."

Des Moines Menace 2, St. Louis Lions 0: The Menace appear to be one of the hottest teams in the league after improving their PDL regular-season win streak to 10 consecutive games on Saturday. Mark Heath-Preston and Elvir Ibisevic scored the goals in a 2-0 victory over the Lions at the Tony Glavin Complex. Now, the focus shifts to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Third Round, as the Menace host USL's San Antonio FC on Wednesday.

“We’re just taking it one game at a time,” Ibisevic said. “It’s awesome that we’ll get to be back in front of our home fans. We’re ready to be back in our home atmosphere. Hopefully we can keep winning and get the chance to play an MLS team.”

Reading United AC 2, New York Red Bulls U23 2: In a highly-anticipated Mid-Atlantic Division derby, Reading United and Red Bulls U23 split the points. Paul Marie scored his third goal of the season for Reading United, and Brett Campbell scored for a second consecutive game fifteen minutes after Marie's opener. However, Red Bulls U23 scored two late goals to earn a road point. Sevag Kherlopian headed in the first goal of the game for Red Bulls U23 after latching onto a cross from Nico MeloArun Basuljevic completed the comeback with a goal of his own moments later.

“We’re very dangerous in the counterattack, and we created a lot of chances," Reading United's Campbell said after the game. "If we would’ve gotten that third goal, it would’ve been game over.

"It just goes to show you when you don’t put away a good team like that, leaving them around, they had good technical players that were able to capitalize on two chances. It’s unlucky for us.”
