Adrenaline goalkeeper records eight saves in first win of season

TAMPA, Fla. – SW Florida Adrenaline goalkeeper Michael Yantz has been named PDL Player of the Week for the second week of the 2016 regular season after recording eight saves in his team's first win of the season.

Yantz, who is a rising junior at Fort Hays State University, kept an FC Miami City side at bay en route to his first shutout of the PDL campaign in a 1-0 result for the Adrenaline.

PDL Team of the Week

GK – Michael Yantz, SW Florida Adrenaline: Yantz made eight saves en route to recording his first shutout of the regular season against FC Miami City.

D – Dominic Russo, Calgary Foothills FC: Russo was instrumental for Foothills FC's back line, which stonewalled Canadian rival Victoria Highlanders FC, 2-0, for the club's first win of the regular season.

D – Nathan Aune, Washington Crossfire: Aune was a leader for the Crossfire from the back, leading his side to a 2-0 shutout victory against Foothills FC on Friday.

D – Alex Ryan, Seacoast United Phantoms: Ryan scored the Phantoms' first goal in their 2-1 win against FC Boston.

D – Andrew Stalboerger, San Diego Zest FC: Stalboerger was active in Zest FC recording its first points of the 2016 campaign during Week 2. The defender helped his side shut out the Southern California Seahorses, 0-0, before netting the game-winner in a 2-1 result against LA Laguna on Sunday.

M – Gerzon Blanco, OC Blues U23: Blanco only played 43 minutes, but made the most of his time on the field against the BYU Cougars, scoring the game-winner.

– Eduardo Cruz, Mississippi Brilla FC: Cruz scored a goal in Brilla FC's 2-1 win, while helping break down Peachtree City MOBA's defense throughout the match.

M – Tate Schmitt, FC Tucson: Schmitt was influential from the midfield against Ventura County Fusion, and even scored a header in the second half of the team's 2-0 win on the road. 

M – Milton Blanco, Fresno Fuego: Blanco was a handful to deal with for San Francisco City FC, and he scored a laser of a free kick in the club's 5-1 win on Saturday.

F – Naia Graham, Las Vegas Mobsters: Graham scored a brace to lead the Mobsters to their first win of the season against Albuquerque Sol FC.

F – Khori Bennett, Reading United AC: Bennett netted a goal in the opening minute for Reading United, and remained active en route to helping the club secure its first win of the season.
