PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds announced that James McCaig will lead the Riverhounds U23 squad heading into the 2016 PDL season.

McCaig joined the Riverhounds Development Academy's coaching staff in January. The native of Welwyn Garden City in England spent three years coaching within Arsenal FC’s youth development structure before moving to the United States in 2011.

He holds a UEFA "B" coaching license in addition to the NSCAA Premier Diploma and English FA badges. McCaig's recent coaching experience includes stints at Concordia University Chicago and Barton College in Wilson, N.C.

The Hounds return to the PDL Central Conference’s Great Lakes Division alongside strong competition from defending champion K-W United and 2014 winners the Michigan Bucks.

Michigan provides a stern opening test for the Hounds when the season commences May 25 at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. K-W United travels to Pittsburgh four days later for a Sunday afternoon meeting at 2 p.m.

The Hounds U23s will have a 14-game regular-season schedule, with their trip to Michigan’s Ultimate Soccer Arena on July 16 rounding out the campaign.
