GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Carolina Dynamo announced Tony Falvino as the club’s new Head Coach. Tony becomes the ninth head coach in the club’s 24-year history, and the first alum to lead the club.
 
“I am very humbled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Carolina Dynamo,” Falvino said. “As a Dynamo alum, I am looking forward to working with some of the country’s most talented young men this summer and being a part of their path to the professional soccer ranks.”
 
“I’m extremely excited to have Tony, a former player, lead the Dynamo into a new era,” Dynamo GM Scott Zapko said. “Not only was Tony an outstanding player for the Dynamo, but he has become a very well respected coach. I have complete confidence Tony will do an outstanding job.”
 
Falvino is currently the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Greensboro College and a North Carolina ODP staff coach. Tony is no stranger to the Dynamo having played for them during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, appearing in 17 matches while leading the Dynamo to the National Semifinals in his first season.  
 
Prior to arriving at Greensboro College in 2015, Tony was an Assistant Coach at Davidson College for three seasons. Prior to joining the Wildcats staff, Falvino worked at Francis Marion University (2011-12), Wingate University (2009-10), and High Point University (2007-09).
 
Falvino graduated from Greensboro College in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies before receiving his Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Wingate University in 2010.
 
During his four years as a member of the Pride men's soccer team, Falvino earned All-Region honors while being named the USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2002 and the Conference Player of the Year in 2005. Falvino was also named a member of the USA South Athletic Conference Men's Soccer 50th Anniversary Team in 2013.
 
A native of Johnsonville, New Zealand, Falvino was a member of the Under-17 and Under-20 New Zealand national teams. Born in Venezuela, Falvino is fluent speaking Spanish.
