Eight PDL Players Earn DII First Team All-America

Combined 22 players with PDL ties garner All-American accolades in NCAA DII and DIII

The NSCAA recently announced its NCAA Division II and Division III All-American selections, and a combined 22 players with PDL ties were named among this group, highlighted by eight DII First Team All-Americans.

The DII First Team All-Americans include the following: junior goalkeeper Nick Zucco (Western Mass Pioneers) of Southern New Hampshire, junior defenderPaul Dean (St. Louis Lions) of Rockhurst, senior defender Dominic Samuel (Seacoast United Phantoms) of Southern New Hampshire, senior midfielderRenato Bustamante (Fresno Fuego) of Fresno Pacific, junior midfielder Lucas Coutinho (Ocala Stampede/Southern WV King’s Warriors) of Palm Beach Atlantic, senior midfielder Sofiane Tergou (Seacoast United Phantoms) of Southern New Hampshire, senior forward Christian Gonzalez Diaz (OC Blues U23) of Cal Poly Pomona and junior forward Nathan Regis (Charlotte Eagles) of Pfeiffer.

The latter two – Gonzalez Diaz and Regis – advanced to the 2015 NCAA Division II Championship on Saturday, with Regis’ side earning a 4-0 victory. Regis scored two goals to lead the nation with 32 as Pfeiffer capped off a perfect 25-0-0 season.

The DII Second Team All-Americans feature senior goalkeeper Steevan Raymont (Southern WV King’s Warriors) of Palm Beach Atlantic, junior defender Paco Craig (Ocala Stampede) of Young Harris, senior midfielder Tom Gavin (Mississippi Brilla) of Palm Beach Atlantic, senior midfielder Lewis Hilton (Ocala Stampede) of Young Harris, sophomore midfielder Will Roberts (Michigan Bucks/Ocala Stampede) of Charleston and junior forward Chris Hellmann (Des Moines Menace) of Lynn. The third team included senior defender Eric Crawford (Toronto Lynx) of Northeastern State, senior defender Tyler Matas (Las Vegas Mobsters) of Notre Dame De Namur and senior forward Connor Gilmour (Charlotte Eagles) of Cedarville.

In Division III, two players with PDL ties were named to the first team – Trinity senior defender Tom Carwile (Ocean City Nor’easters) and MIT senior midfielder Sean Bingham (Long Island Rough Riders).

Other DIII players with PDL connections featured second team All-Americans Nico Pascual (Western Mass Pioneers) of Amherst and Shaun Watt (Carolina Dynamo) of Greensboro College, and third team All-American Danny Rowe (Southern WV King’s Warriors) of Messiah.
