TAMPA, Fla. - The United Soccer League announced today its 2025 USL League Two Team of the Year for each of the four conferences. The Eastern Conference saw some of the strongest defenders, most dynamic midfielders, and purest goal scorers. Here are the top 11 in the east this year.
*The USL League Two Team of the Year is put together by the USL’s sporting team based on regular season performances and agreed upon by league officials.
GK - Alan Rutkowski - FC Motown STA
Motown ended the year with the best PPM in League Two and was one of three clubs in the Eastern Conference to concede less than 10 goals. Rutkowski was essential to the team’s impeccable season, finishing the year with a 0.82 save percentage.
DEF - Liam Evans - Hudson Valley Hammers
Evans was a big factor in Hudson Valley’s campaign to reach the playoffs for the second time in three years. Evans ate minutes for the Hammers this season and provided a useful connection from the backline to the offense with his sharp passing.
DEF - Maurice Williams - FC Motown STA
Williams was another key piece of the puzzle for a Motown squad that had a regular season to remember. The League Two Player of the Month for June capped off his stellar campaign with 99 total interceptions, giving him 8.25 per game.
DEF - Moussa Ndiaye - Vermont Green FC - Conference Player of the Year
The 2025 League Two Defender of the Year can now add Eastern Conference Player of the Year to his packed list of honors this season. Ndiaye focused on defense this year and it showed as Vermont maintained one of the best defensive records in the country en route to an undefeated season and national title. Ndiaye had an 83.8% passing rate in the middle and defensive-thirds and averaged 38 medium range-passes per game.
DEF - Nathan Goulet - Salem City FC
Goulet was a big part of another impressive season by Salem City in League Two. He ended the year with an 83.6 passing completion percentage.
MID - Theo Da Silva - Ocean City Nor'easters
Da Silva had a solid season for Ocean City, who reached the playoffs for the fifth season in a row. The Brazilian had three goals and one assist for a Nor’easters squad that scored some picture-perfect goals this season.
MID - Zachary Zengue - Vermont Green FC
Zengue was the captain and the engine for this Vermont squad that reached the mountain top. From the start of the campaign, Zengue was leading the Green to play their energetic style. He finished the year with eight goals and hit over 10 medium-range passes per game.
MID - Israel Neto - Western Mass Pioneers
Neto was one of the most dynamic players in League Two once again, bringing his Brazilian flare to Western Mass this season. Neto finished the regular season with seven goals and two assists.
FWD - Evan Howard - Lionsbridge FC
Howard terrified defenders across the Chesapeake Division this year. The Englishman’s tall and athletic frame helped him score goals 11 goals this season. He had two hat tricks and some clutch plays for Lionsbridge.
FWD - Jack Stainrod - Long Island Rough Riders
Stainrod joins this potent group of Eastern Conference strikers. He scored 10 goals and had three game-winners for the Rough Riders.
FWD - Gage Lyons - Northern Virginia FC
Lyons had a stellar season that earned him the co-Golden Boot award with 12 goals. He was dangerous all over the pitch but found himself in the penalty box a lot with the ball.
