TAMPA, Fla. - USL League Two announced Moussa Ndiaye of Vermont Green FC as the 2025 Defender of the Year in his third season with the club.
Ndiaye was an anchor this season, helping Vermont to finally get over the hump and win its first Northeast Division title. The VCU defender had an 83.8% passing rate in the middle and defensive-thirds and averaged 38 medium-range passes per game. Ndiaye also uses his size to win aerial battles and keep the opposition out of Vermont’s defensive half.
“I am truly honored to receive this incredible honor. Winning the Defender of the Year means a lot to me and my family in Senegal,” said Ndiaye. “I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, staff, owners and this amazing community and fans in Vermont for their support and belief throughout the seasons. This award isn’t just a recognition of my individual efforts, but a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
