TAMPA, Fla. - It was an exciting and compelling month in League Two, with over 400 games played during June. As the regular season kicked into full gear, these players stepped up their game and delivered star performances across the whole month. The USL League Two Team of the Month was determined by league officials based on excellent performances throughout the month of June.

GK – Jonny Mennell – Asheville City SC
Jonny Mennell was nearly perfect this month for Asheville City SC, who continued their march through the South Central Division. Mennell allowed only one goal in six starts, the team’s only goal against this season. The Asheville backstop and his defensive line were in sync all month as he only had to make 16 saves.
DEF – Maurice Williams – FC Motown STA – Player of the Month
FC Motown STA had a stellar month, rattling off a perfect 7-0-0 record to set them atop the Metropolitan Division. Maurice Williams was integral to Motown’s rigid defense which earned three clean sheets in June. On top of that, Williams’ play on the ball was equally impressive as he scored twice and averaged 45 pass attempts per game, completing 72% of those. This standout play earned him the Player of the Month designation.
DEF – Luis Edmondson – Virginia Beach United
June was the month where Virginia Beach put their stamp on the Chesapeake Division, and Luis Edmondson’s commanding presence in their backline helped them keep four shutouts. Edmondson held a 77% passing accuracy throughout the month, including a 92% completion rate over 73 passes on June 24 against Virginia Marauders FC.
DEF – Olayinka Ogunleye – Sueno FC
Olayinka Ogunleye has been stellar for his hometown team, helping them to 16 out of a possible 18 points in June. He maintained a 79% passing accuracy, averaging 34 passes per game. For the cherry on top, Ogunleye scored his first goal of the season by making a header off a corner look like a tap in.
MID – Nicholas Graeca – Steel City FC
Steel City FC’s leader in the middle, Nicholas Graeca, was instrumental to their success in June which saw their offense come alive. He notched three goals in three different games, including a 95th-minute winner against Toledo Villa FC. The midfielder had a 69% passing accuracy during the month with an average of 40 passes per game.
MID – Jack Burkhardt – NEFC
Jack Burkhardt has been a strong presence in NEFC’s midfield this season, helping them to five wins in June, keeping them in the playoff race. He had three goals during the month and averaged 60 passes per game at a 76% completion rate. The Boston College product should never be left unmarked because of his dynamic playmaking abilities.
MID -- Enzo Mauriz – Redlands FC
Enzo Mauriz balled out this month with his intelligent movement and dangerous playmaking ability. He’s always a threat to score with his pinpoint accuracy, and he found the back of the net three times this month. Mauriz also tacked on two assists for good measure in a strong offensive month for Redlands FC.
MID – Drew Hardin – Little Rock Rangers
Litte Rock’s number 10 played his role to perfection in June, using his sharp play and high soccer IQ. He found the back of the net twice, and finished the month with an impressive 80% passing accuracy in the middle-third as a key cog in the Ranger’s build-up play.
ATT – Rodrigo Lopes – St. Petersburg FC
Rodrigo Lopes has been on a tear this season for St. Petersburg FC. He notched six goals in June, taking his total to nine on the year, and putting him near the top of all League Two scorers. His strong play in the month led his team to score 21 goals in six games and now sit tied for first place in the South Florida Division.
ATT – Dominick Bachstein – Des Moines Menace
Dominick Bachstein has been a nightmare for opposing defenses. The six-foot-three-inch forward is coming off a monster season at Drexel with 18 goal contributions in 16 games. He followed that up with 10 contributions in League Two, including six goals in June. As Des Moines gears up for a playoff run, Bachstein is a scary sight for those who get in his way.
ATT – Bautista Rossi Molinas – Lane United FC
Lane United FC is a far better team than they were last year, and in large part that is thanks to the fantastic play of Bautista Rossi Molinas. The Argentine scored six goals and recorded one assist for good measure in June. He’s averaged six shots per game in the month and has kept Lane United firmly in the playoff hunt.
