St. Louis, Mo. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that St. Louis Ambush will join USL League Two beginning in the 2025 season.
The current iteration of the Ambush is the second club to use that name in the area, after the original team competed from 1992 to 2000. Today’s Ambush have competed in indoor contests since 2013 and are now expanding to the outdoor pre-professional game.
Their mission is to provide family friendly and affordable soccer for their local community.
“We are excited to grow the Ambush family and provide the opportunity for our players to be able to play year-round,” Jeff Locker, Ambush head coach and co-owner, said.
St. Louis Ambush will compete in the Central Conference in 2025.
“As we look to continue to build our indoor team from young men who are from St. Louis, are a part of the St Louis culture and community, this seemed like the next logical step,” Shelly Clark, Ambush CEO and co-owner, said.
The Ambush will continue to invest in local community programs and host camps and clinics encouraging physical activity, goal setting and healthy habits.
“We’re really excited to bring a club on board that has been such an integral part of St. Louis sports history,” Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, said. “I have no doubt they’re going to be a lot of fun to watch, and a really great club in League Two.”
