Overland Park, Ks. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Sunflower State FC will join USL League Two beginning in the 2025 season.
The club was formed in 2019 with the goal of providing high-level playing opportunities to any and all players who have the passion to play the beautiful game, while simultaneously creating a meaningful impact within players’ lives and in the community through soccer.
“We are ecstatic to be here, and as an organization, this is a huge step for us,” Sunflower State FC President Joey Lipoff said. “We are proud to represent Kansas City in USL League Two and hope to provide this opportunity for years to come.”
Sunflower State FC will play their home matches at Rockhurst University’s Bourke Field in Kansas City, Missouri.
“Sunflower State FC are extremely involved in the Kansas City community, so we couldn’t be more happy to welcome them to League Two,” said Joel Nash, SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “The club has that desire to provide its members more options for competitive play, and we’re happy to provide the platform for them to do that.”
The club’s title sponsor will be Jarrod Williams Dentistry, along with additional sponsors Tenfold Security, Edie Waters, Strange Day Brewing and Sano.
