Laredo, Tx. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Laredo Heat SC will join USL League Two beginning in the 2025 season. The Heat spent 12 seasons in League Two from 2004-15, winning the league title in 2007.
The club was founded in 2003 with a commitment to providing its community and fans a winning soccer team with an entertaining style of play. The Heat seek to represent the City of Laredo in a positive manner by building strong community relationships with business partners and local schools. The club will develop local talent by providing high-level competition, and live their motto that embodies their culture as a border city: “Yo Si Le Voy, Le Voy a Laredo,” or “I Cheer For Laredo, I Support Laredo.”
"We are thrilled to announce our return to the USL family, revisiting our roots where the Laredo Heat journey began in 2004,” said Shashi Vaswani, Club Owner and President. “We believe the time is ripe to step into USL League Two. We are excited about the opportunities this move affords us by further enhancing our competitive play and expanding our community impact."
Laredo Heat SC will play their home matches at the club’s new PEG Energy Stadium in Laredo, Texas, as a member of the Lone Star Division.
