Summary

1 Ballard FC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Tacoma Stars, 5/19
The defending champions have yet to play, and we’ll get our first look at them this coming week. With all their returning talent, plus new additions, it’s hard to put them anywhere else before we’ve seen them.
2 Monterey Bay F.C. 2
(2-0-0)
Next match: vs SF Glens, 5/19
There couldn’t have been a much better start to the season for last season’s Nor Cal Division champions. Seven goals scored, six league points on the board, and it hasn’t looked out of their control in the 180 minutes of soccer they’ve played so far. The next match will set the tone for the season in the division.
3 Lionsbridge FC
(1-0-0)
Next match: @ Virginia Marauders, 5/21
While not an overwhelming victory against Virginia Beach United, Lionsbridge did what they needed to do on the road, where they’ll play five of their first six games. The goal from Denis Krioutchenkov is worth watching.
4 Flint City Bucks
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Michiana Lions, 5/18
AFC Ann Arbor got off to a convincing start in the division, but the Bucks have a good opportunity to get themselves right and set the tone with two matches against expansion clubs up first.
5 Long Island Rough Riders
(0-0-0)
First match: vs New Jersey Copa FC, 5/19
The way 2023 ended will leave a sour taste in the mouths of the Rough Riders, after making the Final in 2022. They’ll be able to take the first step to redemption on Sunday.
6 Vermont Green FC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Boston City FC, 5/19
America’s Open Cup darlings won’t get to play at Virtue Field for another week, with road tests against Boston City FC and Black Rock FC up first. To keep pace with the Phantoms and Western Mass Pioneers, they can’t afford slips.
7 Des Moines Menace
(0-0-1)
Next match: @ Chicago Dutch Lions, 5/15
It wasn’t a fun day at the office for the Menace at Valley Stadium. A draw with Peoria City and a fairly flat performance in the second half will leave Troy McKerrell with work to do.
8 Western Mass Pioneers
(1-0-0)
Next match: vs Pathfinder FC, 5/18
It took longer than they would’ve liked, but Western Mass Pioneers took care of their business. A 73rd-minute goal from Scott Testori gave the visiting Pioneers all three points, but they’ll be hoping to suffocate games earlier with the long season ahead.
9 Redlands FC
(1-0-0)
Next match: vs Capo FC, 5/18
A 9-1 win on the road is about as loud of a statement as you can make in a division without many weak links. Since at least 2016, the Southern California Eagles never conceded more than five goals in a match before this past weekend. Omar Yehya looks like a star.
10 Little Rock Rangers
(1-0-0)
Next match: @ LA Krewe, 5/18
Hattiesburg FC gave them all they could handle, but former Spain youth international Nacho Diaz slotted home the winning goal as the Rangers took care of business in the home opener. They’ll want to be more fluid in attack going forward.
11 Asheville City SC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Southern Soccer Academy, 5/17
Back-to-back matches against Southern Soccer Academy open the season for the Blues, who open as the clear favorites in the South Central Division.
12 Fort Wayne FC
(0-0-0)
First match: vs Dayton Dutch Lions FC, 5/18
The most dominant regular season team in the league last season, Fort Wayne will again expect to blanket opponents in the Valley Division this summer.
13 Brave SC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Florida Elite Soccer Academy, 5/20
Brave SC won’t get to play a home match until June 1, with a pair of away matches against Florida Elite Soccer Academy and Brooke House FC up first. A fun quirk – every single game this season in the Southeast Division takes place at 7 p.m. ET.
14 AFC Ann Arbor
(1-0-0)
Next match: @ Midwest United FC, 5/18
AFC Ann Arbor took care of business with fairly little stress against Union FC Macomb. Ann Arbor conceded their one goal against Union FC Macomb in the 90th minute, which did little to counter the four that the hosts got across the line.
15 Seacoast United Phantoms
(0-0-0)
First match: vs AC Connecticut, 5/18
The battle for the Northeast will get well and truly under way this week – which of the top three will be standing on the pile once the regular season ends?
