Dyson Clapier is linked to Sporting Kansas City

Flint, Mich. — The Flint City Bucks have signed MLS-drafted Dyson Clapier for the upcoming USL League Two season, pending league and federation approval.

“I’m excited to join the team and get to work,” Clapier said. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the club and the fans. Looking forward to playing in a great atmosphere.”

Clapier was selected by Major League Soccer’s Sporting Kansas City with the 51st pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. KC now holds his MLS rights through 2025.

He is the Bucks’ third 2024 signing who was recently drafted into MLS, following Palmer Ault and Malik Henry — Clapier’s teammate at University of Akron.

The attacker plans to return next fall for a fifth season with Akron, where he so far has amassed 14 goals and 12 assists over 57 matches, including 48 starts.

A 5-foot-11 forward and midfielder, Clapier was on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list this past season, but his participation was limited to 12 matches due to injury.

Before college, the native of Layton, Utah, spent time in the Portland Timbers academy, eventually appearing for Portland's USL Championship side Portland Timbers 2. Clapier also has USL2 experience with Park City Red Wolves SC (Salt Lake City).
