Joliet-based club to field League Two club in inaugural season

JOLIET, Ill. – Today, USL announced that Sueño FC is set to make its debut in USL League Two in 2024.

Sueño was established in January 2023 as a development club for players in the local community. Aspiring players came to Sueño to push for their collegiate and professional dreams. Now, as a member of League Two, the club will field a senior team to accomplish that mission.

“We are thrilled Sueño FC has been selected to join USL League Two, where we will embrace the spirit of competition and growth,” Matt Pearson, co-owner of Sueño FC, said. “As we embark on this exciting journey, we are committed to showcasing the talent, determination, and sportsmanship that define us as a team. Together, we aim to elevate our game and make a lasting impact, not just on the field but for Joliet and the local community we serve. Our journey begins here, and we can't wait to share it with our fans, our community, and the entire USL League Two family.”

Sueño seeks to position itself in Joliet as the source for soccer expertise and experience, providing opportunities for local players to reach their highest potential as players and as people.

The club has partnered with the Access U organization, a nonprofit dedicated to sending young, underserved players to college to play soccer. Access U will serve as Sueño’s front of shirt sponsor.

“I’m really excited to welcome Sueño FC to League Two,” Joel Nash, Senior Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, said. “Community-focused clubs with exciting initiatives are what makes this league great, and I know Sueño will be no different.”
