CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Chattanooga Red Wolves SC today announced that Scott Mackenzie will become the club's full-time Head Coach and Technical Director, removing his interim tag.

Mackenzie, born in Dunfermline, Scotland and raised in Derby, England joined the team from the club's USL League Two affiliate Park City Red Wolves SC, where his squad were crowned Division Champions in three consecutive seasons with many of his players going on to play in MLS, the USL Championship and USL League One. Mackenzie holds a USSF A License, UEFA B License, USSF Instructors License along with various other licenses and certifications.

"One of the biggest advantages we have with Scott is that he's been an integral part of the Red Wolves soccer culture for quite some time," says Red Wolves General Manager and President Sean McDaniel. "He knows exactly the style of high-paced, entertaining soccer our fans have grown accustomed to. We already have a number of top players in our pipeline who are eager to play for Scott and the Red Wolves. We are building off a strong finish to the season and are very encouraged with our start to 2024 and Scott is a big reason for that."

Since taking the reins of the Red Wolves in August, Mackenzie's squad has averaged 2.09 goals per game, higher than the season-long goals per game mark of any other League One club. Mackenzie’s squad is also coming off of a nine-point September, collecting the fourth most points in the league during the month, and now has two goalscorers notching 10 or more goals in a season - a first for the club.

"I feel like there has been a real change in the culture, from a team that was at the bottom of the table to a team that is capable of competing against every team in this league, that is fun and exciting to watch and that is capable of winning games," Mackenzie said.

"We want to continue to build a strong culture, a Red Wolves way that puts hard work, commitment and joy at the forefront of everything we do," Mackenzie added. "We want to continue to develop an identity of a front foot, forward first club. An identity that is exciting for our fans to come out and support every week and allows us to compete at the top of the league. During the offseason we will look to strengthen our squad and make sure that 2024 is a much brighter year for the Red Wolves.

For Mackenzie, Chattanooga has quickly become a favorite of his: "My time here in Chattanooga has been great, it is a fantastic city and part of the country, lots of beauty and history. The people of Chattanooga are great, very friendly and welcoming, I couldn't ask for a better place to work every day."
