WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC has signed midfielder Danny Robles for the remainder of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval. A member of the Hailstorm's inaugural 2022 season roster, Robles returns to Windsor after guiding Ballard FC to the 2023 USL League Two title just last week.

"It’s good to see some familiar faces and meet some new people and ultimately try to win a title with this team," Robles said.

Robles made 27 appearances for Hailstorm last season, making 21 starts and playing totaling 2,000 minutes. His 2022 season was highlighted by scoring the match-winning goal against North Carolina in the Hailstorm's first League One win and later bagging his second of the season against Chattanooga. He was named in the USL League One Team of the Week for the only time in 2022 after his goal against Chattanooga. In 14 matches for Ballard FC during the 2023 League Two season, Robles recorded seven goals for the Seattle-based side.

Robles came up through the Seattle Sounders FC Academy and played 65 matches for Tacoma Defiance between 2018 and 2021 and tallied six goals and seven assists. In 2019, Robles was an unused substitute for the Seattle Sounders in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fourth-round match against the Portland Timbers.

Robles made the team sheet five times for the USYNT in 2018, starting against England, Brazil, Russia and Turkey for the U-17 squad. The USMNT went 3-0-1 in his four starts - he was an unused substitute in the fifth match against Portugal - with the lone loss coming against England.

"He’s a dynamic midfielder," Hailstorm Head Coach Éamon Zayed said. "He likes to get the ball and move it quickly in tight spaces."

Robles’ main contributions for Hailstorm last season came in defense, where he was one of the most proficient tacklers in the team with 25 tackles won. He also won 99 duels to go along with 16 clearances and 19 interceptions.
