Ventura County striker scored 13 goals in the regular season

TAMPA - Today USL League Two announced Ventura County Fusion's Logan Farrington was named the 2023 Player of the Year.

Farrington was named the winner after receiving the most votes in a poll sent to League Two club leadership after the conclusion of the regular season.

The Oregon State striker won the Golden Boot award next to Texas United's Sergio Ors Navarro, scoring 13 goals across the 12-match regular season. Ventura County Fusion had an 8-3-1 record, finishing second in the Southwest Division.

A League Two champion with Ventura County Fusion in 2022, the club's outlook on 2023 was in doubt after forward Nathaniel Opoku was bought by Leicester City FC. Farrington picked up the contributions, setting fire to opposing nets with ease. His ability to create his own space in the box, hold off defenders and score with both feet was essential in the Fusion's Western Conference Final run. They were defeated in that match by eventual champions Ballard FC.

The Racine, Wisconsin native has seen success at every level he's played at, and this award is another feather in the cap of an extremely successful USL League Two veteran, in a league with high roster turnover year-to-year. Farrington has left his mark on the club and the league.

Farrington is the first League Two Player of the Year to also have won the USL League Two Final since 2014, when Dzenan Catic did so for Flint City Bucks. He is the fifth player all-time to hold both awards for the same club.

Other players receiving votes: Taig Healy (SEA), Peter Kingston (BAL), Marc Torrellas (CHC), Eliot Goldthorp (DMM), Bernardo dos Santos Monteiro (CHA), Nick Pariano (OCN), Jeorgio Kocevski (LIR)
