The statistical winners in the 2023 League Two season come from across the league!

TAMPA – The United Soccer League today announced the winners of the Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards for the 2023 season. These awards were determined by statistical output in the regular season – the players with the most goals were awarded the Golden Boot, while the player with the lowest Goals Against Average was awarded the Golden Glove.

Ventura County Fusion’s Logan Farrington and Texas United’s Sergio Ors Navarro both scored 13 goals this season and have been awarded the Golden Boot.

Farrington excelled in his second season with Ventura County Fusion, after being a key piece to the club’s 2022 USL League Two Final win. He scored his 13 goals across nine different matches, including a hat trick against Capo FC on May 31. While the goals didn’t count toward his total for the Golden Boot race, Farrington had his second hat trick of the season in the Western Conference Semifinals, in a win against San Francisco Glens SC.

Ors Navarro was a late entrant to the Golden Boot race, but his incredible six-goal performance against Blue Goose SC on July 8 thrust him right into the mix. He plays his college soccer at West Virginia University, where he’s a regular starter, but his attacking explosion at Texas United is his largest one to date. He helped Texas United advance to the Southern Conference Semifinals, where they eventually fell to Little Rock Rangers.

Fort Wayne FC’s Aurie Briscoe allowed just 0.43 goals per 90 minutes played and has been awarded the 2023 Golden Glove.

Briscoe organized the Fort Wayne defense and made the necessary stops to carry one of the best defensive squads in League Two history. The club only allowed three goals all season – two on May 23 and one on May 27. Briscoe maintained a clean sheet in every other regular season match he played for the club. He’ll play the coming college season for Rutgers University.

The USL League Two Final between Ballard FC and Lionsbridge FC will take place on Saturday, August 5 at 7 p.m. PT. The match will be held at Starfire Stadium and will be streamed on Eleven Sports.
