Des Moines Menace, the most successful team overall of the last three seasons, awaits them in feared Valley Stadium. Chicago City SC comes in with the advantage, as so few teams do. Win on July 1, and the Windy City team will start to see the finish line in the division.

July 1 / 7:00 p.m. CT		 It’s not often Des Moines find themselves behind going into a critical season match – usually, they’re the ones simply trying to gain separation. If Chicago City SC get a goal across against the Menace, it’ll be Des Moines’ first conceded goal since… Chicago City SC, back on May 28.

Flint City Bucks		 1

v. South Bend Lions
July 1 / 7:00 p.m. ET 		It took a late volley from Hugo Bacharach to secure another three points against nine-man Oakland County FC, but the Bucks continue to roll, with a draw away against AFC Ann Arbor still the only spot on their record. The scoring margin isn’t as extreme as some others, but the Bucks continue to plug along.

Fort Wayne FC		 9

v. Dayton Dutch Lions FC
June 28 / 7:00 p.m. ET		 The largest separation between first and second in terms of ability and form could very well rest between Fort Wayne FC and everyone else in the Valley. They haven’t conceded a goal since May 27th, and have scored 14 in their last four matches. They were the second team to qualify for the playoffs this season.

Long Island Rough Riders		 2

@ Cedar Stars
July 1 / 7:00 p.m. ET		 The Rough Riders emphatically responded to their setback against Cedar Stars and Manhattan SC with a 6-0 win against Ironbound SC and a 3-1 win against Westchester Flames. Hudson Valley Hammers are still hot on their heels – they don’t have the margin to lose again.

Last Week: 5 		7-0-2
v. LA Parish AC
July 1 / 7:00 p.m. CT		 A draw against LA Krewe is disappointing for Texas United, but they still have 23 goals scored and only 2 conceded in their last four games. They’re on a blistering pace, and there’s no reason to think they won’t be walking away at the top of the Mid South Division.

San Francisco Glens

@ Marin FC Legends
June 28 / 6:30 p.m. PT		 • You get to jump straight to 7 when you thump Monterey Bay F.C. 2 and come away with 12 points out of 15 in their last five matches. A critical loss to Marin FC Legends throws the divisional crown in doubt, though. They would've cracked the top five without the loss.

v. Capital FC Atletico
June 30 / 7:00 p.m. PT		 A nightmare weekend for the previously spotless Seattle club. A last-second concession to Oly Town FC, who were down a player, and a draw away against United PDX spoiled what could’ve been Ballard’s qualification weekend for the playoffs. Now, though, they have to face Capital FC Atletico twice, and they’ll have to right the ship quickly to finish the season off as sweetly as they started it. They’ll be without Lesotho international Lesia Thetsane, due to his red card against United PDX.

Ventura County Fusion		 3
Last Week: 6 		7-1-1
v. Capo FC
June 22 / 7:00 p.m. PT		 Dueling 90th minute goals between Logan Farrington and FC Tucson’s Munier Hussen resulted in the first draw of the season for Ventura County Fusion, but they’re still knocking on the door of playoff qualification. A win against Capo FC gets them into the playoffs.

AHFC Royals		 1
Last Week: 11 		8-1-1
v. Round Rock SC
July 1 / 7:00 p.m. CT		 The Royals sure do like leaving it late, which is why they’re not higher – three of their last four results have been decided in the 85th minute or later, all via goals from the Royals. That kind of steel is helpful come playoff time, but ideally, you don’t leave it that late at all. With three games in hand, Twin City Toucans are closer than they appear.

Monterey Bay FC 2		 3
Last Week: 8 		6-1-1
@ Academica SC
June 30 / 6:00 p.m. PT 		The only reason Monterey Bay F.C. 2 isn’t lower is because of the great performances they’ve stockpiled even in recent weeks. However, taking a comprehensive 3-0 defeat in a top of the table clash against SF Glens was about as poor of a week as Monterey Bay could’ve asked for. It’s now a goal difference race between MBFC 2 and SF Glens – and the boys in aqua have a tougher schedule to close the season.

Thunder Bay Chill

@ Minneapolis City SC, @ Rochester FC
June 28 / 7:00 p.m. CT / June 29 / 7:00 p.m. CT 		They started the season with two losses, so it was easy for them to sneak up – but blink, and you’ve missed that Thunder Bay Chill have rattled off five consecutive wins with only two goals conceded in that time. Away dates with Minneapolis City and Rochester will likely decide the trajectory of their run-in, especially since the Loons beat them in the early part of the season.

Northern Virginia FC

July 1 / 8:30 p.m. ET		 The half-field goal specialists now have control of the Chesapeake Division. The club has scored four goals from either at or right in front of the half field line this season, and it’s propelled them to four consecutive wins. They’ve only kept one clean sheet this season, at home against Patuxent FA, so that’s probably not sustainable if they don’t tighten up their defense. However, massive wins against Christos FC and Lionsbridge FC have NoVa flying.

South Carolina United FC

v. East Atlanta Dutch Lions
July 1 / 7:30 p.m. ET		 A massive win against Asheville City SC puts a huge cap on a four-match run in which SC United picked up 12 points out of 12, scored 13 goals, and conceded just one. They’re now tied for the divisional lead with the Blues, and have to chase them down in goal difference, as the sides don’t face each other anymore this season.

Park City Red Wolves

v. Boulder County United
June 29 / 7:30 p.m. ET		 Our first Mountain Division entry of the season! It’s by no fault of their own – the matches started later on the calendar than the rest of the league. The Red Wolves opened the season with back-to-back draws, but their last four matches have all been wins, and they can open a six-point lead at the top of the table if they beat Boulder County United on Thursday.
